Communication & Attendance Policy
West Hartford Girls Youth Lacrosse Communication & Attendance Policy
We understand that players and families balance school, family commitments, and multiple sports. Perfect attendance is not expected, but clear communication is.
Required Communication: Crossbar App
All attendance and availability must be updated in the Crossbar App.
This is the required platform for team communication.
If your player will miss a practice or game, please update their availability as soon as possible, ideally at least 48 hours in advance.
This allows coaches to plan practices, organize scrimmages, and set game lineups effectively.
Same-Day Absences
If your player becomes sick or cannot attend on the same day:
- Update their availability in Crossbar, and
- Notify the coach using their preferred communication method.
Games vs. Practices
- Games: Attendance is strongly encouraged. Please communicate conflicts early in Crossbar.
- Practices: Occasional absences are understandable, but communication is expected.
Multi-Sport & Family Schedules
We value and support multi-sport athletes and recognize that family schedules can be busy. During the lacrosse season, we ask that players prioritize their lacrosse commitments whenever possible. If your player has recurring conflicts, please communicate those early in the season so coaches can plan accordingly.
Team Commitment
Consistent absences without communication may impact playing time or game participation.
Even when communication is provided, coaches may use their discretion regarding playing time if a player is not making a consistent effort to attend practices and games.
Our goal is simple: communicate early, support teammates, and keep practices and games running smoothly.
